| Ok i jus gotta say, "I FUCKING hate being sick!!!" It all starts off with this funny feeling in your nose. Then you start sneezing all over the place, and in denial, play it off like it's just allergies. Then your nose gets all stuffed up and you can't really breathe. At this point you're still kinda lying to yourself, that you really don't have a cold. So like for a day, you're sittin there sniffing and snorting and blowing your nose. Then at night you go to sleep and wake up in the morning all congested. Your nose is plugged up and your chest is all full of shit because of the post-nasal drip that's been flowing into your lungs all night. So all the infectious material that was previously in your nose is now in your lungs. And you start coughing and coughing. You have this itch in your throat and chest whose only purpose is to make you feel like shit because you cant stop coughing. Nothing comes up when you cough, your throat is so sore that it seems that blood will be coming up shortly, and you sound like Ned from South Park. On top of that, you can't taste your food because your nose is completely clogged. By now, I guess its safe to say that you're sick. Sooo, is staying in bed all day drinking hot soup and vitamins and going to sleep early a feasible option??? Not when you have work and school. Finally, after a couple sleepless nights, you start feeling a little better. Food tastes not so bland, you gotta run away when someone farts, and stuff is finally coming up when you cough. The latter is the part that like the best. Through the whole course of the cold, its like there's something in your lungs that just won't come up. It bugs you day and night because everytime you breathe in, it rattles just a little bit. But when the cold starts going away, the most satisfying moment is when you cough and all this nasty crap comes up. Spit it in a napkin, spit it in a trash can, spit it in the sink so you can look at it... whatever you do with it, the persistent shit in your lungs is gone! Yay! | | |
| Happy 4th of July erryone! Hope you all didnt get toooooo drunk.... As for me, Taryn n I went to Taryn's family party. It was pretty fun. We ate at a park and then went back to Taryn's grandparents house where we lit off fireworks. Ok so here it is, i know you'll feel me: So you're all stoked its the 4th of July so you go and buy a grip of fireworks. You're standing in front of the firework place everything looks so damn cool. To the guy working there, you're like, " what does that thing do?" and he's like, " oh shit that one is tight," and you're like, "NICE! ok what's that one do?" and he's like, " oh shit that one's tight too." So then you get all excited and buy of of those big combo packs and like 3 or 4 of each kind of fountain and like ten billion sparklers and lotus spinny thingys. So then an hour later when its time to light the fireworks, you're all anxious. First things first, everyone lights the sparklers and lotus things and it gets everyone pumped up to light the big ass barrel thing you just bought for fifty bux, but you can't cause you have to go small to big last. Finally after an hour, you start lighting the fountains. The first one is cool, and the second one is alright, the third one is kinda repetitive and blah blah blah......but the thought of the big momma/grand finale at the end keeps your bordom away. Long story short-er, after another hour of this, all the damn fountains are gone except for the big ass one. So then everyone kinda steps back when someone finally lights the fuse. Everyone holds their breath in sheer excitement as the spark slowly burns the fuse. Then the dramatic pause as the spark burns to the bottom of the fuse and seems to go out....... Then WOOOO HOOOOOO O Oooo blah......... yea it turns out that this thing is the same thing as the smaller ones, except that it MAAAAAYBE goes for a lil longer.... So yea, that was our firework display for this fourth of july. But in all seriousness, its not the fireworks or whatever that count... its the good company.... and the FOOD! | Sup Xanga. Well unfortunately, Andy and me weren't able to race at Streets of Willow cause the roster was full. Damn! There's always next time, and by then maybe I'll have my ITR engine and full suspension.
This month, on the 15th, we're moving into our new apartment. It's over in the Woodbridge area. The apartment is really cool because it's a town house that was just totally refurbished. On top of that, we get this big ass lake that we can fish and sail and whatever in. Come visit, come visit!

| Wsup??!! I jus came back from class and I thought I'd do a xanga for today.
So anyways, this coming weekend is Streets of Willow!! I can't wait..... to beat everyone! Its gonna be fun. This past weekend, Taryn, Alex, Marci, and I were chillin at my house in sd trying to work on my car. Aww isn't that nice. Yea... workin on my car... got me thinkin how much more I need to do to my car... So if any of you have some "extra money" or somethin layin around, feel free to contribute it to the Mattmobile Fund. | Whats up erryone?? How have you all been? I've been alright. Just trying to concentrate on school and stuff like that. The other day, i pulled an all-nighter because I had three essays to write for the next day for Conflict Management. One was about discussing what conflict is and to analyze two books that talk a lot on conflict resolution. The second one was about how culture and conflict resolution fit together. The third one was a discussion on the differences between individualistic and collectivist cultures and how those differences could lead to misunderstanding. I had fun doing the essays... plus, at 4 in the morning, my bullshit skills are at their peak. I like my conflict management (CM) class, but seriously its the first, what seems to be, self help class ive taken at a school before. Earlier on today, Taryn and I were in my CM class and the teacher had the whole class (about 50-60 students) go outside and split into groups and talk about what kinds of words or phrases that we think of as being synonymous with "conflict." It was kinda weird, but interesting. Then after that, I had world war II. It was boring as usual. Now, I'm jus sittin here chillin. I gotta start studying for midterms. Sorry my whole entry was bout school, but this is the time to be thinkin about school.... MIDTERMS!!! Ill write more later... .bye! | | |
